WordPress Plugin​

Troubleshooting​

WordPress Issues​

Issue: Citation data not showing

Problem: UnrealSEO sidebar blank in editor

Solutions:
1. Check API key: Settings → UnrealSEO → verify key
2. Clear cache: If using cache plugin, clear cache
3. Check permissions: Current user has "Editor" role minimum
4. Browser console: Check for JavaScript errors
5. Conflict: Disable other SEO plugins temporarily

Test: Create new post, publish, wait 5 min, check sidebar

Issue: Schema not appearing

Problem: Schema generated but not in page source

Solutions:
1. Hard refresh: Ctrl+Shift+R (clear browser cache)
2. Check theme: Some themes strip custom head code
3. Plugin conflict: Disable schema plugins (Yoast, Rank Math)
4. Verify: View page source, search for "application/ld+json"

Fix: Settings → UnrealSEO → Schema → Force output in footer

Shopify Issues​

Issue: Products not tracking

Problem: Product citation status shows "Not tracked"

Solutions:
1. Verify app permissions: Shopify Admin → Apps → UnrealSEO
   → Check "Read products" permission granted
2. Re-sync: Apps → UnrealSEO → Settings → [Force Resync]
3. Check visibility: Product must be "Active" and "Online Store" visible
4. Variant issue: Ensure "Track variants" setting enabled

Timeline: Tracking begins within 24 hours of setup

Webflow Issues​

Issue: Custom code not injecting

Problem: Schema code not appearing on published site

Solutions:
1. Publish site: Changes only visible after publishing
2. Check app status: Webflow Apps → UnrealSEO → Status: Active
3. CMS items: Republish collection items individually
4. Cache: Clear Webflow cache, republish

Verify: View published page source (not Designer preview)

General Issues​

Issue: API key invalid

Error: "Invalid API key" or "Authentication failed"

Solutions:
1. Regenerate key: unrealseo.com → Settings → API Keys → New Key
2. Copy entire key: No spaces, complete string
3. Account active: Check unrealseo.com account not expired
4. Correct account: Using key from correct team/workspace

Test: unrealseo.com/api/test → Should show "Connected"

Issue: Citations not updating

Problem: Citation status unchanged for weeks

Possible causes:
1. Frequency setting: Check if set to "Monthly" (change to Weekly)
2. API quota: High-traffic sites may hit rate limits
3. Content unchanged: AI re-crawls only when content changes
4. Platform issue: Specific AI platform may be down

Force refresh: Click "Refresh Now" in citation panel
